Apple has launched the Beats Studio Pro headphones with Active Noise Cancellation and other features. While AirPods Max headphones, available in the market since 2020.
The Beats Studio Pro headphones, released by Apple on July 19, are modeled after the Beats Studio3 headphones and come with leather ear cushions and metal sliders. A 40mm driver specifically developed for each earcup seeks to provide great audio quality with no distortion, even at loud volume levels.
A newly integrated digital processor also produces a well-balanced sound profile. Although the new Beats Studio Pro has some benefits, both headphones offer an unmatched listening experience.
Here is how the modern Beats Studio Pro compares to Apple’s dated AirPods Max, which the company debuted in 2020.
AirPods Max vs. Beats Studio Pro: Design
Both the Beats Studio Pro and the AirPods Max are examples of how the design of luxury headphones is just as important as the sound they produce. Their differing design ideas represent their distinct brand identities.
The Beats Studio Pro continues the brand’s distinctive design approach, which is often contemporary and urban. The famous Beats emblem on the ear cups makes the branding obvious.
These headphones feature the following dimensions: 7.1 inches in height, 7.0 inches in length, 3.1 inches in width, and 9.17 ounces in weight. The AirPods Max is bigger, measuring 7.37 inches in height, 6.64 inches in width, and 3.28 inches in depth. It weighs 13.6 ounces.
Apple has embodied its minimalist design philosophy in the AirPods Max. Airpods Max has focused more on comfort with the oval-shaped ear cups and the U-shaped inverted knit mesh headband.
The AirPods Max appears and feels like a single item thanks to the seamless integration of the digital crown and the lack of any apparent screws or parts. The ear cups have anodized aluminum, a quality material that guarantees durability without sacrificing lightness.
AirPods Max vs. Beats Studio Pro: Key features
Beats Studio Pro demonstrates the latest audio technology. The Beats Custom Acoustic Platform claims to give an immersive listening experience and ensure that each rhythm and note reverberates clearly.
Beats Studio Pro’s 40mm drivers produce superior audio quality and minimize distortion even at high volume levels. Similar to these, the AirPods Max has 40mm drivers for clear high frequencies, precise midrange, and deep bass.
Each headphone has a unique function called Active Noise Cancelling that blocks out the outside world noise to provide a high-quality audio experience.
Each gadget features a side button to alternate between the two listening modes.
Powerful microphones on the Beats Studio Pro headphones actively reduce background noise to improve the quality of your voice. AirPods Max has nine microphones for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which lowers background noise to give an immersive listening experience. Three microphones are employed for speech pickup, guaranteeing crystal-clear voice transmission during conversations or voice commands.
While both headphones are developed with superior microphone technology to ensure smooth speech transmission and excellent noise cancellation, the AirPods Max has a more broad array of microphones solely dedicated to its ANC feature. The Beats Studio Pro, on the other hand, emphasizes enhanced voice clarity, making it a strong contender for voice calls and communication.
AirPods Max vs. Beats Studio Pro: Battery Life
Beats Studio Pro and AirPods Max differ significantly in terms of battery life. Each claims to have a long battery life. But they all have varying durations and features that may shorten that life.
The Beats Studio Pro has an exceptional battery life, so customers can listen to their favorite music without being constantly interrupted. These headphones provide up to 40 hours of listening time without ANC or Transparency mode activated after a full charge.
However, the Beats Studio Pro guarantees up to 24 hours of listening time with cutting-edge features like Active Noise Cancelling or Transparency Mode. AirPods Max provides 20 hours of listening time with ANC or Transparency mode.
If neither of these capabilities is activated, Apple is unsure about the battery life of the AirPods Max. According to several studies, the headphones can operate in “regular” mode for about 21 hours.
It’s important to note that the AirPods Max have a strong standby mode when stored in their case. It features many levels of low power mode and may survive for up to 72 hours.
AirPods Max vs. Beats Studio Pro: Connectivity
There are several different connecting options available with the Beats Studio Pro. The most advanced Bluetooth connection, Class 1, provides outstanding wireless communication over greater distances without compromising audio quality.
The Beats Studio Pro features Bluetooth 5.3, whereas the AirPods Max has Bluetooth 5.0. However, most users are unlikely to distinguish much of a difference between the two. The main goals of Bluetooth 5.3 are to increase energy efficiency and lessen connection interference.
Additionally, USB-C audio, which supports high-fidelity lossless music and enables simultaneous listening and charging, is available with the Beats Studio Pro. The Beats Studio Pro features a 3.5mm analog input connector, whereas the AirPods Max has a Lightning port for charging and offers an optional Lightning to 3.5mm audio adapter.
The Apple H1 chip, exclusive to AirPods Max, guarantees a strong and reliable Bluetooth connection, especially with Apple devices. Additionally, this chip speeds up device switching and pairing, providing a hassle-free user experience.
The same task is carried out by Beats using a proprietary chip, which makes it very useful for Android users. As a result, in addition to one-touch pairing and Find My support for iOS, Google Fast Pair, Audio Switch, and Find My Device are also available for devices on the opposite side of the fence.
